A FUTURE BACK ON THE RAILS
Let’s hear her
steam again.
Lady Augusta needs substantial repairs to return to service. The plan includes new frames, wheels, axles and side rods, with possible work on the pistons, cylinders and valves.
A rebuilt shed would provide a permanent home and exhibition space, giving visitors a closer look at her history and how she works.
Every contribution, large or small, helps the railway move towards this restoration.

Turn plans into materials
Complete the final design and order the materials for the restoration.

Build the foundations
Make new frames, wheels and axles, with possible replacement cylinders and valve chests.

Bring Augusta back together
Reassemble the locomotive, then carry out running-in tests and commissioning.

A home for the next chapter
Complete her exhibition and running shed, and repaint her in her original livery.
