About the event
Experience a special evening with Heatherslaw Light Railway as we journey through storytelling to Botswana’s breathtaking Okavango Delta.
Discover its remarkable wildlife, landscapes, culture and everyday life through the eyes of an experienced safari guide who grew up in Sekondomboro, a small village in the heart of the Delta.
The 45-minute talk will take place at Etal Village Hall (TD12 4TL), beginning at 6:15 pm, followed by a question-and-answer session and refreshments.
Choose from two ticket options:
£15 Talk & Travel
Includes return train travel from Heatherslaw. The train departs at 5:30 pm, so please arrive 10–15 minutes early to be seated and ready for departure. There is an approximately 450-yard walk from Etal Station to the Village Hall. The return train will depart Etal by 8:00 pm.
£6 Talk Only
Includes entry to the talk at Etal Village Hall. Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the 6:15 pm start. Parking is available behind the hall or along at Etal Castle.
The event takes place on Wednesday 30 September 2026, with an additional date on Thursday 1 October 2026 if demand requires.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

This talk-and-travel ticket includes train travel from Heatherslaw to Etal and entry to the talk at Etal Village Hall. The train departs Heatherslaw at 5:30 pm. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so you can be seated and ready for departure. On arrival, there is an approximately 450-yard walk from Etal Station to the Village Hall. You will have at least 25 minutes to make your way to the hall before the talk begins at 6:15 pm.
